The public sculpture includes elements of the Tri-State region, which bring together the interplay between nature and mankind: the river, the woodlands, and the community's history. It is created from materials that can withstand the outdoors and are low maintenance. The siting of an important work of art as part of the Welcome Monument speaks to an appreciation of aesthetics and is a key landmark for those entering or exiting our City.
Six regional or regionally relevant artists were selected to create sculpture models. The Keep Evansville Beautiful Board of Directors, in June 2013, narrowed the choices to four options. Public input brought the selections from four options to two options. The final sculpture, announced on March 24, 2014, is Bob Zasadny's Aerial Beauty. Please contact Keep Evansville Beautiful to help fund this worthy cause of public art.
