Just the facts...
10-minute blitz clean
- Grab two to 10 friends
- Give each person a plastics bag, saved for reuse from a trip to the store
- Provide each person with a pair of gloves or litter grabbers
- Put on closed toed, sturdy shoes
- Take a walk and pick up litter as you go
- Sort the recyclable plastic and aluminum
- Put your bags inside the lidded trash can at your home or office
2 to 4-hour making a difference cleanup
- Call Keep Evansville Beautfiul, your neighborhood association (link to UNOE), the Department of Parks and Recreation in your community, or any other major park, nature center, public garden or zoo in your area to ask where they might want a cleanup done.
- Pick a date and time and gather some friends.
- Either buy a box of sturdy trash bags, find gloves for your volunteers, buy some hand sanitizer.
- OR if the Great American Cleanup is going on, register with KEB for guidance and supplies
- OR donate $25 to KEB and receive a Making a Difference Cleanup kit. Includes bags, gloves, hand sanitizer, water and some food certificate thank you gifts for 15.
- Volunteers should wear closed toed shoes
- Assess your site: do you need safety vests? Traffic cones?
- Figure our where you are putting the cleaned up litter
- Figure out if you are sorting plastic and aluminum recyclables
- Go out and cleanup. Be sure and take some photos!
- Dispose of the trash, wash your hands, pat yourselves on the back!
