Hi! I enjoyed the article in Sunday's newspaper. I am a professional pet sitter. I don't leave the house without my "tools" of the trade, including pick-up bags & treats! I have even offered a bag to someone when I've seen them leave their dog's mess behind. The look on their face says it all sometimes. I walk dogs all over the tri-state. I wouldn't dream of leaving a mess behind. And, I see people watching as we walk by them. In downtown Evansville, I've even had them stop and thank me for cleaning up the mess. Picking up after your dog IS a big deal, but should be second nature. It's surprising, yet shameful, that everyone doesn't see it this way. Enjoy the pictures. One is just for fun. The other is actually two of my three babies. The Great Dane's name is Coal (short for charcoal) and the Vizsla is Cinni (short for Cinnamon). Happy Trails to you & yours! Arizona is attempting to legislate the act of responsible pet ownership by fining those caught not poop scooping. There are many dog parks and greenways and lots of free doggie litter bags available. There is a container next to every dispenser of bags so it couldn't be any easier. I cannot tell you how many times I have seen people out with their dogs who just go off and ignore the 'pile'. I was cussed at and threatened for suggesting it might be a better idea to pick it up and put it in the container right next to poop pile than to leave it on the ground. |
