KEB leads Garvin Fountain Improvements

2012-2013 areas of emphasis are Lloyd Expressway exits at Main Street, Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, First Avenue and Fulton Avenue; the frontage roads.

Garvin Park Fountain is an historic icon at the entrance to Garvin Park, which is on the National Historic Register. Since 1989, the fountain and its greenscape have been largely cared for by Keep Evansville Beautiful, with privately donated funds and labor. KEB has been a steadfast steward, investing more than $5,000 in mechanical repairs and more than $9,000 in landscaping care in the past 21 years. This spring, the agency and others in the community are partnering to Turn On the Fountain.

The $55,000+ effort includes landscaping, electrical, plumbing repair, tuckpointing and repairing the gates and adding an elaborate, computerized LED light show. Partners are Keep Evansville Beautiful, Leadership Evansville Class of 2006, various Kiwanis clubs in the city, the Northside Business Association. More funds are needed. Contact KEB to help!
